Professional photographer Benoit Florencon moved to China in 2006. His strong interest in music led him to photograph portraits of various iconic Shanghai musicians and release Inner Spaces in 2012, a photo documentary on the underground music scene acclaimed by fashion and culture website Hypebeast and online curators Iconolo.gy among others. The series of photographs caught the attention of the Shanghai Alliance Francaise, which turned it into a solo show in 2013.
Benoit has since been photographing portraits for locally-based artists, interior/architecture projects and lifestyle fashion lookbooks for local brands and International names. Benoit is also a regular contributor to Hypebeast.
His client list include Nike, Vans, Dr. Oetker, Bacardi, Freixenet, The Netherlands Consulate General of Shanghai, Mario Botta Architetto, B+H Architects, RED Design, Kvadrat, Tinvest Group, Atelier Pacific, NAÇO Architecture, and A00 Architecture.
